Before the Arrival

So much to do, so much to think about...

How We Chose Our Baby's Name

Selecting a name for a new baby is a fun decision. When we decided on the name "Koda", there weren't really any other names in the running. I had heard that name on a TV show about Huskies and instantly loved it. The name perfectly suits a beautiful, black and white, blue-eyed Husky. We just had to decide on the puppy's WKC registered name, which we were having a hard time with. Much research was done and Canadian Eskimo words were looked up. We found the one word that would describe our Koda...pitsialuaviktok...which means "perfect". Unfortunately, it's too long for the WKC form. Oh well, back to the drawing board...

Look at those eyes!

3 weeks old, far right

...and think and think and think. Our new baby was born on October 19, 2001 in Terrace B.C., Canada. We had to wait an agonizing 6 weeks until she would be in our home. Never before did that short amount of time seem longer! Fortunately, we were able to see weekly pictures of her and her litter mates, provided by JoAnna at Allegro. Here are some of the first pictures taken of our baby.
